——2022 General Rules for Enrollment of Italian Students in WZPT

This year marks the third anniversary of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Italy. In the context of the normalization of the Covid-19 pandemic, WZPT specially launches the enrollment oriented for the students of Children of overseas Chinese in Italy for the following purposes: to provide a convenient means for overseas Chinese children in Italy to return to China and pursue higher education, and to enhance the sense of identity and belonging of the younger generation of overseas Chinese in Italy to motherland (hometown) and Chinese culture.

As the second hometown of overseas Wenzhou people, Italy accommodates more than 200,000 Wenzhou people. At the beginning of 2020, when the COVID-19 epidemic raged all over the world, the touching stories of Wenzhou people at home and abroad who overcame tremendous difficulties and helped each other are still vivid in our minds. What are even more impressive are the unity of Wenzhou people and the strength of overseas Chinese of Wenzhou nationality. Today, China has become the world's second largest economy and the builder of the world's largest vocational education system. To provide high-quality vocational education resources for more Children of overseas Chinese in Italy and enjoy the benefits brought by the rapid development of motherland (hometown), Wenzhou Polytechnic (WZPT) sincerely invites Wenzhou people in Italy to learn modern vocational skills back to Wenzhou and welcomes them to join the modernization of motherland (hometown), thus realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

I. About WZPT

Wenzhou Polytechnic (WZPT) is a full-time public vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education in 1999. It currently has 5 including Higher Education Park Campus, Lucheng Campus, Ouhai Campus, Ruian Campus, and Yongjia Campus in the college. The college covers a total campus area of more than 1,300 mu (about 0.867 km²), with more than 12,000 full-time students and nearly 900 faculty members.

The college has 10 schools, including School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Design, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Civil Engineering & Architecture, School of Digital Economy & Trade. Besides, it has 7 strong professional groups, 40 majors. The college created a related notion of “Setting up majors based on local industry" and built up a road of "interacting with local economy, win-win with industrial enterprises", which is the way of running this school and has been hailed as the "Wenzhou Model" of Higher Vocational Education.

IV. Admission Requirements

1. Aged at least 18, with the diploma of senior high school or above, being well-behaved and healthy, with strong self-discipline, interpersonal skills, and the ability to live and learn independently.

2. Holding a certificate of level 3 or above in Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) or passing a Chinese Test that organized by WZPT.

3. Being interested in learning Chinese and having gained certain understanding of Chinese culture, society, and economy.

4. Having a certain family economic capability and being able to support the expenses in the study period without scholarship.

5. The students who meet the following criteria may also apply as international students: If one or both parents are Chinese citizens and reside in a foreign country, students shall have foreign nationality at birth; Holding a valid foreign passport or proof of nationality for at least 4 years in addition to other eligibility criteria of the school, and there is also a record of over two years (9 months of actual residence in a foreign country is counted as 1 year and based on Passport entry and exit record) of actual residence in a foreign country within the last four years (before 30 April of enrollment) .

Download Application Form for International Students to Wenzhou Polytechnic. After that, students shall print this form, place a signature, and attach a photo (Note: Photo requirements: a clear full-face photo of the student white background taken within 6 months; Do not wear glasses, jewelry.)

2. The text other than Chinese and English in the clear scanned copy of the original highest academic certificate or in the notarized copy shall be provided with the notarized English or Chinese translated copy.

3. The text other than Chinese and English in the original school official transcript or in the notarized copy shall be provided with the notarized English or Chinese translated copy;

4. The information page of the passport (the passport validity must be 4 years or above);

5. Other certificates such as awards in the clear scanned copy or in the notarized copy shall be provided with the notarized English or Chinese translated copy.

6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form.

(III) Admission Processing

1. The interview will be organized in our college until further notice.

2. After the interview is qualified and approved by the school, we will send offers and JW202 Visa Form to the accepted applicants. Applicants who are overdue for two weeks not to arrive at school to register will be deemed to have voluntarily given up

1. Standards of accommodation: A six-bed room equipped with Wi-Fi, an air conditioner, a balcony, a bathroom, a water heater.

2. The canteen in the college sells three meals a day, and the students shall use unified meal cards which shall be recharged by the students on their own.

3. Living consumption: It varies with everyone, and the monthly consumption is about RMB 1,000 to 2,000 Yuan.
